What Is Orthodontic Treatment In Turkey?

Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that corrects and treats malocclusion and misalignment of teeth and improper positions of jaws, using braces, retainers, and other dental appliances.
When you visit our orthodontic center, you will get the opportunity to meet our expert orthodontists. In your first visit, our experts will
- Conduct an initial assessment of your dental problems and review your dental and medical history.
- Perform a thorough oral exam.
- Study the possibility of correcting your orthodontic problem through different orthodontic techniques.
- Ensure that there is no reason for delaying the treatment, such as age or oral infections, or other reasons.
- Determine the duration of treatment necessary to get the best results.
- Explain the problem to you, discussing the possible options for treatment, and setting goals and expectations.
A special interpreter is available in our clinics for each patient to enhance communication between the patients and their orthodontists, to break the language barrier between them, and to enable the patient to get all information they need to know regarding their condition and different treatment methods.
In our orthodontic center, we provide quality orthodontic treatment services, for both children and adults.
Orthodontic FAQ
In the case of speech problems, a problem with teeth occlusion, the presence of wide distance between teeth, excessive overlapping or malalignment, orthodontic treatment is a viable solution for most of these problems
Getting orthodontic treatment not only gives a good appearance and a great smile, but it also helps to maintain healthy teeth in the long term, as well as helping you avoiding teeth carving, which may be necessary in porcelain veneers or some fixed prosthetic devices.
The duration depends upon the patient’s situation, the nature of the problem, and the used technique, but in general it takes 24 months to complete an orthodontic treatment.
Just as orthodontic treatment is used for children and adolescents, many adults can also benefit from orthodontic treatment to straighten their teeth and get a better smile and beautiful aligned teeth.

How Do Orthodontic Appliances Work?
Types of Braces
1- Metal Braces

2- Clear Aligners (Invisalign®)
Some people call it invisible braces. Clear aligners are basically series of customized transparent plastic trays called aligners. The orthodontic expert changes these aligners serially according to the treatment schedule, for example, the patient wears the first aligner for a period ranging between 7 to 21 days, for at least 22 hours a day before replacing it with another aligner, but again it is not always possible to treat all orthodontic problems using clear aligners.
3- Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs)
Temporary anchorage appliances are super small mini screws that are placed in the jaw bone to apply a continuous tension that helps getting the accurate desired tooth movement.
4- Power Chains
Power chains are connected rows of elastic material that are used as a helper device with normal braces to close spaces between teeth.
5- Removable Braces
Removable braces are made up of a plastic base that covers the roof of the mouth and stainless streel wires. Removable braces are considered the treatment of choice for minor upper teeth problems in children.
